It’s almost Mother’s Day! And there is nothing better I love than to give my mom an INCREDIBLE gift, but to tell you the truth, if I don’t already have something in mind, I DREAD, (I mean really dread!!!) trying to come up with something exceptional. It feels like I’m just “giving” for the sake of having to, rather than giving a true, heartfelt, “this is so awesome, I can’t wait till you open it,” kind of gift. Soooooo….if you are stuck trying to figure out what to give mom like sometimes I am, maybe this roundup of gifts my mom and I have both thoroughly enjoyed, will give you a little help. 🙂
P.S. Mom, don’t look too closely. Your gift for this year may or may not be on this list!
A beautiful plant from The Sill. I love gifting plants from The Sill because it’s so EASY! Hop on over to the site, pick your price range and the plant you want, and order from the comfort of your couch. Let them do the rest. My favorite plants to gift are Snake Plants, because they are so easy, and Pileas, because they are just so cute and happy! If you enter your email into the pop-up box and subscribe, you should be able to get 15% off your first order.
A book about plant care. How to Raise a Plant: and Make it Love You Back is a favorite. I love this book! I bought this for Mom a few years back and gifted it with a small plant. The book itself is cute enough for décor and functional enough to help you learn to keep your plants alive. (Which is something I really need help with! Ha!)
Audible Subscription. You know how much I love Audible for listening to books on the go. I love gifting this subscription! You can choose the amount of months you want to gift too (one, three, six or twelve)! So that makes it really convenient if you have a budget limit.
Christianbook.com Gift Card. Sometimes there’s nothing better than a gift card to a Christian bookstore, especially if your mom is looking for specific Christian author titles or even a Bible. I love Christianbook.com for purchases like this. And you can usually catch a deal too!
Hard copy books. Some people are all about hard copies. If that’s the case, you should check out the book list or Amazon storefront for some of my favorite picks!
Kindle unlimited subscription. Or maybe she’s a Kindle person. Kindle unlimited is nice, because there are a ton of free books that come with this subscription as well.
Blue tooth Speaker. My mom actually got this Bose Bluetooth speaker for me probably ten years ago, and it literally gets used almost every day! It is probably one of my favorite gifts ever!
Smart Clock. I have this listed here because we mainly use ours for playing music, and I love having this clock in our kitchen. You can connect it to Google Home and play your favorite apps and podcasts. It DOES NOT make or receive phone calls.
Spotify or Pandora Subscription. If you enter my mom’s house, you will always be greeted with soft background music. She loves Pandora and Spotify, so I thought it would be a perfect gift to let her try the ad-free version. (It’s been a winner!)
Dehydrated Sourdough Starter. I love gifting this to the person who loves working with sourdough (or wants to start making sourdough). Number one, because it’s the perfect gift that keeps on giving and number two, it’s an easy way to get a starter going rather than trying to get one made from scratch. This one is nice and established and will produce some AHHHHMAZING bread. As an added bonus, you can watch Ballerina Farm on Instagram making her dehydrated sourdough starter, so you can see the behind the scenes of their products and farm. So fun!
Sourdough Kit. If you have the extra money to spend, and want to go above and beyond just the starter, you can get the entire sourdough kit, which includes two proofing baskets, a spatula for mixing your sourdough starter, a bench scraper for shaping and moving and a dehydrated “Willa” starter to get it all going. Fantastic option.
An affordable Dutch Oven option. It’s possible to make bread without a Dutch Oven, but when a sourdough baker is ready, it’s just an added bonus to be able to make your bread in a Dutch Oven. I like this option by Magnolia Home because it’s both pretty and functional without the $200-$300 price tag.
A beautiful sourdough cook book. My friend Clarita @skiesofparchmentblog is always inspiring me with her beautiful sourdough creations, and I am always floored. She often references back to this book, so I can officially say I’ve been influenced. It’s on it’s way!
Hello Fresh Box. I love gifting a Hello Fresh box. We enjoy these ourselves during extremely busy seasons when meal planning is kind of an after thought. It’s nice to be able to eat something relatively healthy without having to plan and grocery shop. Having said that, it’s really fun to be able to gift a box for someone else, ESPECIALLY if they are in a busy season. For Mom, I usually gift the smallest box that includes three meals for four people. They usually have some sort of deal going on for first time purchasers too!
Meat Box. This is a fun one to gift too. Meat is so expensive these days, so being able to gift it to someone is an extra special blessing to them. We’ve typically gifted Butcher Box in the past (get 20% off right now with code MOM20), but I also have my eye on Ballerina Farm’s Meat Box as well.
A Favorite Recipe Book. Nothing says “I love your cooking” like giving her a new cook book to try. My very favorite to gift is one of the Magnolia Table Cook Books.
Taste of Home Subscription. When I was newly married, someone gifted this to me, and it was so fun to get every month! I found some of my very favorite recipes flipping through these pages.
The Lazy Genius Kitchen. This book is coming out on May 3rd. If you pre-order, you should (fingers crossed) get it on time to gift. I included this one because I found her first book, The Lazy-Genius Way, to be so helpful to me. I know this one is going to be just as good. Besides, I’ve participated in some of her pre-launching activities, and I’m just so excited to read this one ASAP.
A Williams-Sonoma gift card. This is one of my mom’s favorite kitchen stores, so I know she’s always happy to get some money to spend there.
French Press. This is actually one of my favorite gifts to recommend for Father’s day, but I know some ladies who love their French Press too.
Coffee Bean or Grounds Subscription. For the die hard coffee people, you can keep them supplied with coffee for a year! Here are some ideas here.
Gift Cards. Honestly, this is my favorite to both give and get! Ha! You can never go wrong with a gift card to a favorite coffee shop. Panera, Starbucks, or Dunkin. (Or their favorite local coffee shop.)
Magazine Subscriptions! If your mom is a magazine person, this is a really fun one to gift. So much beauty wrapped up into one little book. Try the Magnolia Journal Subscription or Southern Living subscription.
Home Décor Books. Not only are these beautiful to look at, but they are perfect coffee table books too! My favorite ones to gift are: Styled by Emily Henderson (a favorite for practical tips), The Nesting Place by Maquillen Smith (a favorite for budget friendly ideas), Cozy Minimalist Home by Maquillen Smith (for almost a minimalist inspiration), Homebody by Joanna Gaines (for practical tips but especially for beautiful inspiration pictures).
Gift Cards. If you’d like to get your mom a décor item, but you think it would be best if she picked it out, you can’t go wrong with a gift card to a good home décor store. Favorite go-to’s are: Home Goods, Kirkland’s, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Target, Lowe’s, Magnolia.
A trip to Texas! If you have so much money, that you don’t know what to do with it (lol), plan a girls’ trip to visit Magnolia! How fun would that be?!
A chance to try Stitch Fix. Stitch Fix is one of those bucket list items. It’s one of those things that would be fun “just to try one time.” And since many people may not try it for themselves since it may seem too extravagant, giving it to them as a gift is a perfect solution. And if none of that is true for your mom, and she just loves her clothes, then this is the PERFECT gift.
Gift Cards. I will never stop recommending gift cards! What is one of her favorite places to shop for clothes? Talbots? Christopher & Banks? Goodwill? Macy’s? T.J. Maxx? You can’t go wrong if you land on their favorite.
Jewelry. Jewelry is so fun. Depending on style you can go so many directions with this one. A couple of my favorites are Made by Mary and Sage and Clay Designs. You can also just search jewelry on Etsy and find just the perfect style for Mom.
Thred-up Gift Card. I’ve talked about it before, but I love ThredUP so much. I’ve gotten so many nice things from there. If your mom loves the thrill of the hunt from her own couch, ThredUP is the perfect way to go.
Goodwill Gift Card. Don’t bash. I know several ladies who would be giddy at getting a gift card to Goodwill!
Thrifting Day with Mom. What better gift than to spend time with Mom? Look up all the different local thrift stores (or non-local if you’re feeling it) and make a day of it. Spend the day hunting for treasure, and then buy lunch for her!
Journaling Bible. If your mom doesn’t have a journaling Bible yet, this would be a FANTASTIC gift. There are so many options to choose from, but we’ll stick with beautiful and simple. For a beautiful version, go with a Beautiful Word Bible. There is not as much writing space as with these others, but it sure is pretty to look at. For a simple version, go with either the Notetaking Bible or a Journal the Word Bible. These are two of my very favorites.
Erin’s Scripture Memory Cards. If you’ve followed me for a minute on Instagram, you know I rave about these cards from my friend Erin. They are high-quality and GORGEOUS. And to top it off, they are KJV! I’ve spent years looking for high quality KJV cards and have never been successful….until last year. I am so thankful Erin decided to put these out into the world! There are a couple different choices…the Women of Purpose cards are a business card size. You can get these with a beautiful floral pouch to store them in. The Promise cards (my personal favorite) are a bigger size. You can even get a stand to go with them for displaying a favorite or meaningful promise.
A good Devotional Book. I love a good devotional book. Here are a few favorites. Ponder the Path by Francie Taylor. (Anything by Francie Taylor is a good choice.) What Do I Know About My God by Mardi Collier. Women of the Word by Amy Edwards. Glimpses of God by Debi Pryde. (Debi is another author you can’t go wrong with.)
Amazon or Visa gift card. You can’t go wrong with Amazon. A one stop shop for all of the above! And I bet, if she does use Amazon, she probably has something sitting in her cart waiting to buy. (Don’t we all!)
Gift Amazon Prime. Did you know you can give Amazon Prime as a gift?!?! If she doesn’t have it yet, this is another fun one to give. Between quick shipping and free movies, it may be a perfect choice. You can even choose between three months or twelve months.
Nail Outing or Mani/Pedi gift card. Oh goodness! Pedicures are my very favorite. And if I can do it with Mom, that’s even better!
Massage. How about pampering mom with a Spa Day? This one is great especially for those moms that do a lot of physical labor.
Shari’s Berries, Edible Arrangements, or Flowers. I love these ideas, and I personally always ask for chocolate covered strawberries for Mother’s Day.
Shopping Date, Coffee Date or Lunch Date. At the end of the day, our moms are so happy just to spend time with us. If you’re really on the struggle bus this year because you have no good ideas, take her out and spend time TOGETHER! Spoil her and let her know how much she matters to you!
Alright friends! What can I add to this list for next year?! Please let me know below if you have any favorite gifts you or your mom has enjoyed! I’m sure all of us could use new ideas!
Some of the links here are Amazon affiliate links. If used to make a purchase, I will receive a small commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you! So THANK YOU!
Your products and Erin’s products need to be added ?
??????
This is such a nice list of ideas! Thank you for putting the time and effort into compiling all of it. 🙂
You’re welcome! ?
