The Pastor’s Wife

Sarah's Review

The timeline was very sporadic at the beginning but straightened out into a gripping memoir of Sabina’s time in a Communist labor camp and her life before and after. The book is split into three parts and was very interesting. Books like this remind me that oftentimes we hold up these people as such heroes (and they are), but they are very much human and struggle with sin just as we do. Sabina does not hide her struggles with the flesh throughout the time her husband was in prison. This book is for you if you like reading about imprisonment under Communism.

*I was surprised and disappointed to find that there is some language when she quotes prisoners and guards in part 2 of the book. (Parts 1 and 3 are free of language.)
