Insider’s Club: HouseKeeping Updates

June 4, 2022

Wow! You have blown me away by your response to the Insider’s Club!!! So, SO EXCITING! Be sure you read that email I sent. I’m letting you in on a little secret! And if you have not joined yet, you better join now before you miss our first incredible book!!!!

I’m working to get everything set for our first book club get together next week, so I wanted to make sure you are ready to go. Several people have asked the same questions, so I figured it would be best to just make sure we are all on the same page just in case you are wondering those same things too.

  1. If you are not receiving emails from me, and you’ve signed up, PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM. Several people have told me my emails were there!
  2. Our book for the month of June is The Lazy Genius Way by Kendra Adachi. The other two books that are shown on the book club guide are extra books for further reading that have to do with the subject matter of things we’ll be covering in The Lazy Genius Way. Those two extra books are NOT needed for the book club, so don’t feel like you need to go buy them unless you really want to. Again, we WILL NOT be covering The Lazy Genius Kitchen or Essentialism.  (Also, as a side note, please keep in mind that these three books linked on the book club guide are SECULAR. Book number one and related books are NOT at all spiritual other than helping us become better people. The Bible study book comes next month.)  All three of the pictures of these books on the guide are linked to Amazon, but feel free to find them elsewhere for cheaper if you can. Unfortunately, they are not on Hoopla, but they may be on Libby. Hopefully there is not an endless wait list. Other options I love are…your local library, the Kindle version of the book (usually quite a bit cheaper than a hard copy), or you can sign up for a free trial at places like Scribd, Audible (my favorite), or audiobook.com and get it for free. You will notice that June book club does overlap into July. We could easily go through that first book very fast, but one, we all read at a different pace and two, there’s a lot of practical stuff in that book that we could take SO MUCH time putting into practice! I want to make sure we have time get the FULLEST BENEFIT of practical application.
  3. July will be our Bible study book called Glimpses of God: Reveled Through His Name by Debi Pryde. Debi is a Christian woman’s counsellor and teacher. If you are involved in any kind of women’s ministry, I highly recommend her women counselling seminars called Women Counselling Women. They are excellent! And so are her books!
  4. August book is a surprise! 🙂 And not because I don’t know what it’s going to be. Haha! Just because I love the suspense! I’ll let you know as we get closer, and I get the book club guide done for that one. I’m so excited about it!
  5. If you are on Instagram, please make sure you are following me @altogetherlovely.co so I can add you to my special friends group where I will be posting updates. I will probably continue with my Tuesday and Thursday posting there as that seems to work best for the flow of our family life. It’s nice to NOT be on IG 24/7. That said, I do still check messages, so please feel free to message me any questions that you have.
  6. Hopefully, you’ve been able to print off the Bible reading plan ok. Someone mentioned theirs did not print properly. Let me know if you have any issues, and I can try to send you the Word document (although you won’t get the pretty font), and we’ll see if that makes a difference. If you start falling behind, absolutely NO WORRIES. Feel free to read at your own pace. But if you do want to keep up and are struggling to keep pace just during your Bible reading time, Bible.is is a fantastic little audio Bible app to help you catch up. I mentioned that I love listening to the Bible Recap Podcast to enhance my Bible reading even more. Read your Bible reading FIRST, and then take a listen to that day’s podcast episode. This is where you need to start. Think of it as an audio commentary. I love that Tara Lynn often points out things that I missed, historical facts that I may not have known about, and a special attribute or character trait of God daily. And although I am sure we land differently on some things, her podcast has been a huge help to me to really enjoy the Bible and get to know God better this year.

I think that’s it for now. Again, please feel free to email or message me on Instagram or Facebook or even below if you have ANY questions or are confused about anything. I will get back with you as soon as I can.

Sarah
