Based on a true story, this is technically a children’s book, but I read it for myself. It’s a nice, short read that you could do in just a couple of days. You'll be thinking about it for months afterward. I can’t wait to share with E when she’s a little older. While it is a secular book, it’s such a needed message. We are so blessed, and we often don’t realize HOW blessed until reading something like this. Harrowing, hard, but full of hope! One day at a time. One step at a time. One foot in front of another. And that is just to stay alive. *There is no language. It does describe some hard events just for basic survival. There are instances of death, danger, war and starvation. I highly recommend you read this book and share it with your kids and teens. It’s one that will get the conversation flowing for sure!
