This was such a moving story! Joey is the beloved horse of a young boy, Albert, but the horse is eventually sold to the British cavalry against Albert’s will. This is the story of the adventures (and horrors) of the horse in war, and Albert’s journey of bringing his horse back home. It has a very satisfactory ending too! This book is for you if you enjoy a good book about heroism and happy endings.
*There are 8-10 instances of language including “hell,” “what the devil,” and the Lord’s name in vain.
*MOVIE ADAPTATION: It’s been years since I’ve watched it, so I can’t say what is in it, but I do remember it being very good like the book. Just be sure to check IMDB before showing it to children.
