Consistency – How Biblical Growth Works

The Power of Christian Consistency

John Maxwell once said, “Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly over time.”

Christian consistency is a precursor to an exceptional life. We often think of consistency when it comes to raising children. But Christian consistency is essential in any area you hope to see biblical growth in.

Pursuing Biblical Growth

Someone you admire may look like they are always flourishing, and we wonder, “How do they continually grow like that?” But when you zoom in on their life, what you find is that they are just simply consistent to their “things.”

Their biblical growth is not spurred by the occasional mountaintop moments or grand gestures that may be easily seen by the public eye. No. It happens in the quiet, mundane moments of daily life—in the daily devotion in the Word, the daily walk, the daily meals around the table, the daily child training, the daily keeping of the home.

Embracing Spiritual Discipline

In those monotonous moments that no one sees, they choose to engage with life intentionally. They’ve learned to show up faithfully for the life God has put in front of them.

Biblical growth cannot happen when we are sporadic and unreliable. Don’t be that person.

Show Up with Faithful Living

Instead of sporadically doing things, I gently encourage you to SHOW UP.

Show up to your daily devotion with the Lord every single day, even when you are weary. Show up to your daily walk even when you don’t feel like it. Show up to your church even when it’s hard to get everyone out the door early on a Sunday morning. Show up to your family devotions, even when it feels like not one person is getting a blessed thing out of the Bible reading today! Show up to your ladies’ groups and your co-ops; and yes, even your piles of laundry and your dust bunnies.

Show up consistently and faithfully to YOUR life, whatever that looks like.

Building Godly Habits for a Bountiful Harvest

Biblical growth is beautifully simple.

Just be consistent—with your eyes fixed on Jesus, and your heart resting in His grace. As you keep planting those little seeds of faithful living throughout your ordinary days, He will bring the harvest—and it will be BOUNTIFUL!
