And that\u2019s really saying something since, you guessed it\u2026I loathe meal planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So to fix this very depressing, ugly, brain fatiguing, horrible \u201cpain point,\u201d I came up with this meal plan (or \u201crotation\u201d is actually a better word), that I\u2019m SOOO excited about! The only way I can think to describe it is like a capsule wardrobe, but for food instead\u2013Capsule Meal Planning! (And I actually googled that, and someone else came up with that title already, BUMMER!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Here\u2019s the idea<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>All of our favorite dinner meals are split up seasonally.<\/strong> Each season has 12-14 main dishes and 12-14 side dishes. And these will go on a rotation for the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once I figure out the 14 meals, I add them to my calendar\u2026over and over and over and over, until the next season. And BOOM&#8230;hardly any planning necessary because I did all the hard work all at once! (BIGGEST WIN OF MY LIFE TIME!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make matters even easier, many of the meals have the same few ingredients, with a few exceptions (like baked beans), so as long as I have the majority of these ingredients in my pantry, I can make several of these meals at any given time! WOOHOO!!!! The less I have to think about meals, the better! For example, cilantro is great in both Indian and Mexican dishes. The naan is great for both Indian meals and also as the bread for homemade pizza! Our favorite Sister Schubert rolls can be both sides and the sandwich bun for shredded meat. Where I can\u2019t eat rolls, or buns, I can substitute lettuce to turn the dish into a salad or wrap!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have included sides with each meal (again, so I don\u2019t have to think about it), but really, I am not stuck to these exact meals. I can switch around or completely remove sides and vegetables as much or as little as I want. The first four recipes could technically be considered as one in my actual rotation. I will not be making or eating all four dishes within the same week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellplated.com\/slow-cooker-yogurt-chicken-shawarma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chicken Shawarma<\/a> with Rice, Naan and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.loveandlemons.com\/tzatziki-sauce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tzatziki Sauce<\/a>: I\u2019ve talked about this recipe many, MANY times on Instagram, but this is really a family favorite. This is one I ALWAYS make for company because it tends to be such a crowd pleaser. For an Indian style rice, I like to double the spice recipe and add the extra spices to the rice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.allrecipes.com\/recipe\/212721\/indian-chicken-curry-murgh-kari\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chicken Curry<\/a> with Rice and <a href=\"https:\/\/nishkitchen.com\/kachumber-indian-cucumber-salad-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indian Cucumber Salad<\/a>: Any type of cucumber or fresh vegetable salad is fitting here or switch it out with the Yogurt salad below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dinnerthendessert.com\/easy-tandoori-chicken\/#wprm-recipe-container-33854\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chicken Tandoori<\/a> with Rice and <a href=\"https:\/\/nishkitchen.com\/raita-indian-yogurt-sauce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indian Yogurt Salad<\/a>: For another type of Indian Rice, you could try <a href=\"https:\/\/www.food.com\/recipe\/curry-leaf-rice-143451\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this<\/a>. I love the flavor of curry leaves, and am so thankful when my Indian friends share them with me! Don\u2019t be stuck to the recipe!!! Oftentimes, when I try to make an Indian style rice, I\u2019ll just sprinkle some spices in like cinnamon, clove and chili pepper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thecozycook.com\/chicken-spaghetti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chicken Spaghetti<\/a> with Garlic Bread and Salad: A summer twist on spaghetti!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with French Fries and Fresh Veggies: No recipe. Just simply chicken breasts in the crockpot or Instant Pot with your favorite BBQ sauce. When done, shred and serve. These guys are delicious!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spendwithpennies.com\/million-dollar-spaghetti-casserole\/#wprm-recipe-container-121415\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Million Dollar Spaghetti<\/a> with Salad: This is one of my husband\u2019s favorites, so it pretty much stays on the meal rotation all year long. Cooking them this way makes the most amazing green beans ever. My husband says they\u2019re the best he\u2019s ever had\u2026even better than fancy restaurant green beans!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cooking.nytimes.com\/recipes\/1014733-pulled-pork-sandwiches\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pulled Pork Sandwiches<\/a> with Cornbread or Fries and Slaw: Eat your favorite BBQ restaurant at home!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplyrecipes.com\/recipes\/how_to_grill_pizza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grilled Pizza<\/a> with Salad: Using naan or flatbread as your base layer makes for amazing pizza!!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hot Dogs, Zucchini or Squash, Chips and <a href=\"https:\/\/dinnerthendessert.com\/baked-beans-recipe\/#wprm-recipe-container-33769\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Baked Beans<\/a>: The baked beans are here for when I feel like adding all these extra ingredients to my cart. When I\u2019m not feeling it, we\u2019re having fresh veggies instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gimmesomeoven.com\/baked-potato\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Baked Potato Bar<\/a> with Cheesy Broccoli: This is a favorite quick meal. And I love how the potatoes turn out baking them this way. It\u2019s worth the extra effort to pull them out halfway through to butter and salt them!
